Panelle Siciliane (Sicilian Street Food)

Panelle Siciliane Directions
Need 1 pound of chick pea flour and 5-1/4 cups cold water, salt and pepper. Cook on medl/low heat stirring continuously with wooden spoon until the mixture thickens. Add fresh or dried parsley when it thickens! Spread out on a large slab or cookie sheets; spread it out to a little less than 1/4”. When completely cooled cut into pieces and deep fry in corn or canola oil.

Some like to squirt a little lemon on the panelle before making a sandwich. Also great just plan without bread.
