Project, Inc., located at 2828 Brannon on The Hill is a 59-year-old sheltered workshop, the oldest in the region, with a social mission to provide employment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in a nurturing environment fostering positive social interaction. Our workers, those whom society would rather leave home or in adult day care, experience pride, dignity and economic self-worthiness as they accomplish their jobs at Project, Inc. Further, we encourage the development of the whole person; friendships are made and joy is evident with “the choir”, workers who like to sing together before work, or the artists, those who like to draw before work. With the workers’ creations we now have a calendar, adult coloring book, stationery and gift tags.
Please consider forming a team and attend our Annual Trivia Night, Saturday, September, 8, 2017, at IBEW Hall, 5850 Elizabeth Avenue. The proceeds from the trivia night will be used for operating expenses. The workers are slow to learn and quick to forget, so we need to have extra supervisory staff to support our social mission, and guide the workers down the learning curve for each job that comes in house. We provide a job – not a “hand out” -so it is critical that we perform all jobs with the highest quality.
